Sorel boots makes it more versatile than the caribou V. I have a love-hate relationship with these boots. On the one hand, I had my partner for ten years, so any update on the coating or the one who was wrong. They are strong, last long, and really keep your feet warm. Toes only been achieved with these cold, when temperatures range 15 are negative, and that may be because the coating is starting to fray. For your feet warm days, I am eternally grateful to Sorel. They are so incredibly ugly that they are almost cool looking. When I'm stomping on the town (Vermont) in these often look down and think, what the hell are those things attacking my feet?
The disadvantages ... caribou are difficult to enter and will not serve for winter hiking of any kind, as they are very bulky and tend to twist your ankle while walking. These boots feel like they need to create a training and are too large to fit on my snowshoes. If you have weak ankles or tendinitis, you should avoid these. Also, if you prefer more arch support and I like to use as Superfeet inserts in your shoes and boots will not be able to do that with the caribou.
I just bought a pair of Sorel snow drifts and could not believe how easy it is to enter and light are compared with the caribou. I love Sorels for its warmth, but I think they do many other boots that are better for moving in the Caribou awkward.
