elegant, but (somewhat) practical

I bought these after getting another pair of boots in the mail Blondo (http://www.amazon.com/Blondo-Womens-Malak-Shearling-Shakybuck/dp/B0026MRRJ2/) and confirm the setting 8 WW well (I get a WW 7.5-8 in general, but to use 7.5 better be very large). It was because I wanted a different color boot in a different style, not because the other boots were not good.
This book, I think, is to be a hybrid of a dress shoe and a boot of snow. As expected, not perfect, either, but from the practical boots and extra-wide shoes are hard to find individually could have given this five stars - but for one thing. The template is completely flat and walk ten minutes after my feet hurt. There was high enough in the forefoot for a full insertion, so that adds some 3/4-length Dr. Scholl inserts, which handled the bulk of the problem, but the ball of the foot in general is still not as happy as could be.
Otherwise, it is sleek, lightweight, good enough to wear with fancy clothes. They have mediocre traction in snow for a start, but much better than any dress boot I've used. They seem to be water resistant and are surprisingly warm due to its lightness. With a low temperature in the teens, and wearing medium-weight, my fingers started to get cold after 15 minutes of walking outdoors.
In short, if you do not mind adding support for the arch and need not be outside in freezing temperatures for a long time, and you are looking for dress boots that are a recipe for falling on your keister, these are good.
