cute, but loud
For shoes Gal
I bought both cognac and black in these boots because they look so cute. I wanted flat slouchy leather boots that were not suede (which was surprisingly hard to find). Although I like the color and appearance of the boot, the leather quality is not as good. Actually squeaks when you move the axis or rub together. In addition, these suckers are very small. I'm usually a 9, and I always steve madden boots in a 9.5 so there is room for socks (sports socks I wear all my boots). I have these in a 9.5 and toes were a little deformed, they were fine without socks.
The shaft of the boots are a good size. They fit well with leggings or skin. I have not tried skinny jeans, however, but it seems there will be no problem.
They were too cute not to wear and I was too impatient to wait and exchange them for a size bigger, so hopefully it will break and better fit and lose the squeak. So for the size and scream, I had to break off two stars.
Update: To clarify, the brown boots are noisy. Finally broke black boots and crisp sound made when the skin has to move when you bend the ankle. It's just strange that these are the only two pairs of boots I have to make noise. I just wish that Steve Madden made these with high quality leather and materials in the shaft. I have been using brown a few weeks, and I'm still waiting and waiting for the birdie to leave.
